The quick and thickly applied brushstrokes render a green grass background framing two girl sisters one with her arm around the other in "The Sisters, 1885" by Mary Cassatt. The impressionist values capture the sweetly innocent expressions on the girls' faces and their orange brown hair are the same as the other except one is more tousled and the other girl's straigher. To further highlight the innocence themes the sisters are swaddled in rich white garments and material and gaze indirectly at the viewer.
